Casa Saguarda – practical information

WIFI

The wifi code is: Saguarda-017

Please be aware that under certain meteorological conditions (tramuntana, which is the famous heavy mountain wind) Internet may not function optimally in Cadaquès. Do not mistake this for a malfunction of the router and please do not try to change any settings.

If a problem persists for a longer period and above conditions do not apply, you may want to reset the router by disconnecting it from the mains for 30 seconds and then reconnect. If this does not solve the problem, please get in touch with Sonia.

In any case do not try to reset the router with the reset button!

Sound system

You can stream your music from your laptop, phone or tablet to the sound system through Airplay (iTunes & Apple devices) or Bluetooth.

Should you have any problem connecting your device please consult the attached manual.

We have equipped the house with a high quality sound system, in order for you to experience your music in an optimal way. However please do not make the neighbours unwillingly enjoy your music, so do keep the volume at an acceptable level.

(Satellite) TV

The TV set can be used to watch satellite TV as well as to watch streaming video and enjoy web content

Satellite TV

There are two satellite decoders available:

 The SAB decoder receiving Canal Digital. Canal Digital broadcasts UK, Dutch,

German national channels and a variety of other channels.

 The Thomson decoder receiving TNT Sat. TNT Sat broadcast the French national channels and a variety of other channels

For a precise listing please visit the respective Web Sites.

In order to receive satellite TV first decide whether you want to use Canal Digital or TNT SAT.

Canal Digital:

1. disconnect the AC Adaptor of the Thomson decoder and connect the SAB decoder power plug.

2. switch on the SAB decoder using the SAB remote control (the one with no brand indication)

3. switch the source of the TV to HDMI 1 using the Samsung remote control source button and cursors and then push enter

4. you can now operate the channel choice and the volume through the remote control of the SAB decoder (NB do not use the Samsung remote control for channel switch as it will automatically change the source, you can however use it for volume control)

TNT Sat:

1. disconnect power plug of the SAB decoder and plug in the AC adaptor of the

Thomson decoder.

2. switch on the Thomson decoder using the Thomson remote control

3. switch the source of the TV to HDMI 3 using the Samsung remote control source button and cursors and then push enter

4. you can now operate the channel choice and the volume through the remote control of the SAB decoder (NB do not use the Samsung remote control for channel switch as it will automatically change the source, you can however use it for volume control)

NB. Do not make any changes to the signal cables!

Streaming Video

The TV set is equipped with both Chomecast (set source to HDMI 2) as Apple TV (set source to HDMI 4). If you are not familiar with operating these systems, check the respective Web Sites. (or ask your children, they will probably know)

WEB content

You can also watch web content by pressing the center (colorful) button on the Samsung remote control.

Swimming pool

The swimming pool can be used free of charge for all renters between 09.00-21.00 hours. The caretaker of the pool is Vladimir, the tennis teacher. Please make yourselves known to him before your first use of the pool. Thereafter you can use the pool as much as you like. You can find Vladimir either on the tennis court or in the little house underneath the court.

When using the pool please respect the neighbors.

Tennis Court

The tennis court is for rent at the following rates: 14 euro for an hour for singles, 16 euro per hour for doubles. The courts should be booked in advance, please call Vladimir at +34 972 259 005.

Garbage disposal

The garbage can be put in the garbage containers which are located on the road leading to the village. There are separate containers for normal garbage (bags), paper and carton, plastic bottles and other plastics and glass.

Espresso machine

Please use only bottled water, as the tap water contains too much calcium and will ruin the machine.

Dish washer

Please re-fill salt and shine liquid, these are available at the apartment, best programme to use is the Eco programme at 50 degrees.

Steam iron

You can use normal tap water as the filter will clear out the excess calcium.

Wash Dryer

The machine will indicate when the water reservoir needs to be emptied by making a bleeping sound. You will find the water reservoir as indicated in the below pictures.
